TOA-MD Global Workshop 2014

Crop-Livestock Systems Modeling for Ex Ante Impact Assessment using the TOA-MD and Ruminant Models - June 2014

This week-long workshop was the culmination of a course led by John Antle and Roberto Valdivia (Oregon State University) and Mario Herrero (CSIRO) for multi-disciplinary research teams studying crop-livestock systems. The five participating research teams from ILRI, CIAT, ICRISAT, and IFPRI are composed of economists, crop scientists and livestock scientists. TOA-MD is an economic model for multi-dimensional impact assessment of agricultural systems, and the Ruminant Model simulates ruminant livestock production. The goal of the workshop was for the participating teams to use these two models to carry out impact assessments for technologies being studied in their research projects.
